.0005 oz. short of the Calcutta win

Coming off their huge Captiva Rod & Gun Tournament win, the team of Jeremy & Bob Walsh and Ossie Lessinger showed they still had some left by placing 2nd in the Mangrove Madness Tournament that benefited International College. (Despite coming up short of the tournament win by an incredible one quarter of a inch in the overall length and being knocked out of the Hooters’ “Catch The Big One” Red Fish Calcutta by the Team of Harry Silverglide, John Dickey & Andy Whitbread by an immeasurable .005 ounces on a late , late, late day fish. No protest was lodged by the Walsh/Lessinger Team in the true club tradition of Good Sportsmanship.

The Summer Slam ‘06

The Summer Slam was dominated by club members. Harry Silverglide capturing the Snook Calcutta. Ozzier Lessinger, Joey Burnsed, & Jimmy Burnsed all finished in the top 10.

The Cracker “A Party Disguised As A Tournament”

The first time tournament team of Stegmann, Silverglide & Jimmy Burnsed Jr., fishing their first tournament together, won many accolades for their hard work, good stories, fine photographs and partying abilities, but alas no trophy. It was just too much angling skill for one boat.

The Caloosa Champion ship Series - November 2 & 3, ‘06

After a brutal weather day on the water and a fine midday lunch and 3 hour break at R. C. Otters, the hot team of club members Bob Walsh, Jeremy Walsh, & Ossie Lessinger emerged as the 2nd place finishers in the “Invitation Only” Caloosa Championship Tournament coming up short by 5 ounces on the heaviest Red/Snook Combination at South Seas Plantation. Jeremy & Ossie combined on a broken reel, a hook and hand spool to land their large Snook in the first 10 minutes of the tournament, that put them in the money. After a 30 mph/5’ sea backwater day, Jeremy was heard to say “God, I love the smell of the salt breeze in the morning”. A true Rod & Gunner.

Club member Jimmy Burnsed Jr and his team collected 1st place money for the tournaments largest Snook and gave an excellent, although incoherent speech.
